I’ve experimented with using automatic and manual settings until I was blue in the face. The device, in my case, doesn’t seem to want to work at all unless it is selected as the default media output device. The fact that the speakerphone has such good sound quality is a downside in this area. Do the phone buttons on the device work for you? However, experience suggest to me that this is fixable.

With some combination of settings in CallCentral, I can’t remember which ones I can sometimes get some of the buttons working, but it’s never consistent, because for some reason I have to occasionally change settings in CallCentral.
In regards to your second concern, I would like to explain that the microphone should be on if you connect it even though no VoIP software is not using. Resources for IT Professionals.

The North American versions have limitations, and do not seem to work as well. Learn more about Logitech Inc. Logitceh works fine for me. However, experience suggest to me that this is fixable.

The installed file LogitechUpdate. Which OS releases does it run on? I’m not sure Logitech even officially supports the QuickCall on Vista. They just stay contantly red.
